UK Consumers want faster connections

Though the position of the UK broadband industry has been rapidly advancing, it still can’t seem to keep up with its growing demands. Not only is the market considered to be overdue, many suggest that it still needs to be revolutionized, to meet the needs of its consumers.

According to new surveys by uSwitch, over of consumers are dissatisfied with their current provider. The price comparison utility suggests a wide discontent from customers, as most are uncomfortable with the bandwidths which are offered. Appropriately, the majority of consumers doubt their broadband providers, as they often provide less than half of the bandwidth which is initially offered.

uSwitch determined that most users subscribe to an 8mb service, but in most cases will only receive 4mb. According to uSwitch, the convention for broadband provision is flawed, causing a shortage in its network availability. To permit the capacity which is promised, the UK broadband infrastructure will require a subsistent technological upgrade. Currently, the networks employ copper wires, while fiber optics is necessary to sustain such speeds.

Cooper wires do not serve as suitable conductors, failing to offer adequate signal transfers. It’s about time that the industry performs the necessary alterations; users deserve to collect that which they pay for.
