Water Poisoning
Yes, that’s right. Water poising. Your baby can actually die from having too much water. Recently on the news there has been stories of a lady that was shopping in store, when her eight month old baby started going into a seizure. By the time that they got to the hospital, the baby had almost died. The problem was the saline in to body had been diminished by all the extra water that the baby was getting. She was putting ten ounces of water in her babies bottle with only two scoops of formula. She needed at least twice the amount of formula, or half the amount of milk. She said that she was doing it because the cost of formula was too expensive and the WIC people were giving her only 10 bottles of formula a month, she needed 15. I know that’s expensive. The formula cost about 15 dollars a bottle. There is just no reason to give a baby that much water. There are other places that you can go to get more formula. Lots of hospitals will help out of WIC does not give you enough. If the baby was using too much milk… maybe the mom was giving too much milk to the baby.
